3D Animation - How does it work?

3D Animation - How does it work?

Introduction

In this blog article we will discuss how 3D animation works.

# 4 Principles of Animation - Body
# Animation Modelling - Body
# Conclusion

Body

In the e-book ''3ds max 7 fundamentals and beyond course ware manual' [Page 8] states "Many aspects of 3D computer animation have been taken from traditional animation. One of the most important concepts from the traditional animation is the idea of a keyframe"

What is a - keyframe? Continued "When the story is complete, it is broken into scenes. A senior animator draws the key (important) poses for a scene. These poses are called key frames. A junior animator then draws the frames in between the key frames, called in-bet-weens".

In the e-book 'The guild handbook of scientific illustration' [Page 247]  states "In 3D animation, the animator acts like the director of a play. Animators are responsible for building models and environments in 3D space, posing characters and cameras, controlling lighting as well as other elements in a scene. The animator then directs the computer to render this information, that is, to prepare still images of the scene at different intervals, in a planned, time sequence".

In the e-book 'Strategy Game Programming with Direct X 9' [Page 397] which states "In order to understand how 3D animation fits into the big picture of game development, you first must grasp the following concepts:

# Scenes
# Objects
# Key Frames
# Animation Sets"

Let us look at in the same e-book, what is a scene, object and animation set (we have looked at key frames before).

Scenes are outlined in [Page 398] stating "The first thing you must have for 3D animation to take place is a scene. A scene is nothing more than a collection of objects".

Objects are outlined in [Page 398] stating "Objects are the lifeblood of 3D animation. Without objects you wouldn't have a scene or animation. What is an object? For the purpose of the chapter, objects are 3D models comprised of polygons, colors and textures".

Animation Sets are outlined in [Page 401] stating "Armed with your new found animation, you need animation sets. Why? To make life simpler. You know what they say: Programmers are lazy by nature. That is why we are always trying to write programs to simplify tasks".

Finally we look at another area of Computer Animation which is even more impressive and should be beared in mind, which is Computer Modelling, the e-book 'The art of 3D Computer Animation and Effects' [Page 59] states "Computer modelling can occur with a  wide range of computer-based three dimensional techniques such as using virtual modelling tools to sculpt objects or using a three-dimensional digitizer to capture the shape of the physical model directly into the computer program. Once the virtual actors and objects are modeled, they can be attached to the motion skeletons that will be used to animate them with a variety of techniques, this is called rigging".

This in essence finishes our article and I hope you have learnt something this will be further explained in depth in the conclusion if the information needs to inscribed into my own words.

Conclusion

3Ds max is a clear component of 3D modelling and animation, it is a clearly great software for these uses and I would recommend it as through the research it is substantially mentioned. I hope you understand the difference between what a...

# Key Frame
# Animation Set
# Scene
# Object

How they differ and their importance in animation,  i would additionally suggest purchasing your own direct 'how to animate' book to give you some guidance on how to animate, if you are looking for certification, then go through that route, but only do a Bachelors or MA or serious taught course if you have a lot of interest in it.

The article further explains how animation is useful, how it works and the principles, and in case you don't know what Direct X 9 is, it is the software, (similar to Flash) which allows graphics to be displayed in your computer, certain computers would need to be quite fast to display high-end graphics.

Hope my article helped.

Is Paracetamol and Aspirin Bad for Our Health?

Is Paracetamol and Aspirin Bad for Our Health?
Mohammad Nashir

Introduction

This article will explore if Paracetamol and Aspirin are bad for our health? The reason I am writing this is because doctors and GP's and even health professionals have requested I take pain killers, some of course have other medications they take, like me I take other medications, so pain killers seem the wrong thing to take, after all taking more is not often better. So, this article will explore for those who have the worry at the back of their head if Paracetamol and Aspirin (pain killers) are bad for our health?

Oh and currently I am very unwell and once I pushed the doctors to not take pain relief I was given another medication (cream - not so much medication) which seemed to directly remove the pain I had. This was miles better and did not include severe side affects and dependency which some pain killers cause and they did not prolong the pain, it directly treated it. So; problem solved, but was it, the question I have and many of you might have will be answered in this article.

The e-book 'The Healthy Guide to Unhealthy Living' [Page 160] states "the pharmacy where he'd been filling his prescriptions told us he'd given that line to six different doctors in the area, and had attempted to fill no less than twenty prescriptions for painkillers".

Continued "Doctors usually prescribe narcotics, derivatives of the opium poppy, to treat pain. Opium is the base that gives us  morphine and heroine (in its most potent form)".

Another point continued and very significant [Page 161] "Unfortunately, opioid receptors, unlike marijuana receptors, are located in the brainstem. Too many narcotic pain killers can cause respiratory depression and death".

As we can see here pain killers (paracetamol and aspirin) are portrayed in a bad light and as I imagined my initial thoughts have been correct, to justify this further let us look at another source.

The magazine - 'The Advocate' [Page 49] displays interesting information, stating "Enslaved to Painkillers" on their theme headline. Not very good is it? Further evidence that the dependency on pain killers is not good at all.

'The Advocate' explains that it is especially dangerous for those who are Gays and Lesbians who are particularly 'enslaved' to pain killers.

Here is a sample of [Page 49] "This 42 year old lesbian mother of two becomes suddenly animated and friendly. She shakes the prescription bottle. This is my love, This is my life, I'll take this drug till the day I die"she says, hastening that day one tablet at a time
".

If you need further evidence we will give it to you, as we know some journalism articles go by one source or two, we prefer to give you minimum three, for non-bias reasons.

Here is an interesting book, which somewhat supports and negates pain killers, we thought we'd add not to include bias.

'Encyclopedia of Family Health' [Page 137] states "The range of painkilling drugs available can be confusing. Some are fairly mild where as some are dangerous; many can be bought in drugstores and supermarkets."

Continued "However, aspirin is not suitable for pain in the heart, gut or urinary tract, or for those who develop rashes and breathing difficulties".

Continued "Research shows it is unsafe to give aspirin to children under 12 years old".

Continued "Also included are opiates, both natural and synthetic, such as morphine, heroine and opium".

This is very interesting because not only do these sources show there is a dependency in the theoretical research but there is personal research to support this.

Conclusion

I am sure we can continue on this for a long time, but let us concentrate on the matter at hand, essentially 'is paracetamol and aspirin bad for our health''. According to this finding, yes it is, if the medications are administered properly, so pain killers are possible treatments but they cause dependency including very powerful pain killers. Smaller pain killers would be better, but because of the confusion as to whether which one is better or not and as each country differs, I would advise taking small doses of pain killers and taking the light form and not taking them regularly, and only when the pain stops, it is immediate to come off  them, this article shows evidence of dependency - so try not to take too many pain killers as they come with their side affects too.

Another reason not to take pain killers is because too many can cause death, yes its true, believe it or not and as I am taking too many medications in my system, I was right in saying that pain killers is the wrong way to go. I was administered another cream and it was more useful thankfully.

I personally HATE  painkillers they are terrible, I have seen people die from them as a freely available medication, so as they are freely available in supermarkets and drug stores - take caution and god bless and be safe.

Thanks.

Can We Remember Phone Numbers and IP (Internet Protocol Addresses)?

Can We Remember Phone Numbers and IP (Internet Protocol Addresses)?
Mohammad Nashir

Introduction

This article will explore remembering Phone Numbers and IP addresses.

Context

# Introduction
# Developing Super Memory - Zero digits
# Developing Super Memory - The phonological loop
# VOIP and IP
# Conclusion

Body

In the book 'How to develop a super power memory' [Page 134] states "by the way, if a zero should be the first of the two digits, simply make up a word for the digits". This book in general, outlines how you can remember digits of a telephone number and tips and tricks on how to remember digits - namely zero digits mentioned in Page 134.

As the book 'Moonwalking with Einstein' [Page unknown] states "most people remember those seven plus-or-minus two numbers by repeating them over and over again to themselves in the phonological loop, which is just a fancy name for the little voice that we can hear inside our head when we talk to ourselves".

So here is demonstrated that the 'phonological loop' in our head, generally works to remember digits of a large magnitude by repeating them in our head, this is immensely useful, let us look further at this.

I in addition looked at a few articles available on Google Books page, on remembering phone numbers and the majority note that this science is rather outdated and researched in science today in 1950's to 1980's, I however think despite the invention of VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) communications we still have a relevance of the telephone and we should still remember old Phone numbers and the new substance of Internet Protocol.

VOIP and IP, is explained in the book 'Switching to VOIP' [Page unknown] stating "VOIP refers to the overall technology family, while IP telephony means specific application functions such as call signalling and voice mail. So when we talk about conference calling, call-waiting and voice encoding, we refer to them collectively as VOIP".

This is very interesting, because it outlines the differences and through this research we know not only the methods of remembering numbers, but that telephone has become outdated and remembering IP numbers through VOIP are more relevant nowadays.

Conclusion

We can conclude from this that the phonological loop is the best way to remember phone numbers and remember to use VOIP services not telephones mainly because telephones are very outdated. Remembering your IP for telephony may seem irrelevant but may be extremely useful as it represents the new method of telephony digits.
